Sri MulyaniSri Mulyani come back !

Jakarta, July 27, 2016

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I am very pleased to announce that I have accepted President Joko Widodo's offer to join the Indonesian government in the position of Minister of Finance.

It is an honor to serve the President and my fellow Indonesians by continuing the ongoing reform program. I will dedicate all my efforts to accelerating Indonesia's development agenda with the goal of providing more and better services, particularly to the poor, and ensuring that all citizen will be able to participate in the benefits of a thriving economy.

I leave the World Bank after six years of serving as the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. It has been a privilege to oversee the operations of this truly multilateral institution that, like no other, brings together over 180 countries in their joint commitment to end poverty and share prosperity.

I want to thank Jim Yong Kim, the President of the World Bank Group, for his trust and confidence in me, and I deeply value the World Bank's expertise and its focus on working with clients to reach their development goals.

Let me finally add that in times when international cooperation seems to have fallen out of favor and populism is on the rise in many parts of the world, we need multilateral organizations more than ever. I will stay committed to the principles of reaching across the aisle and working with partners on addressing the big challenges of our time.

Warm regards,

Sri Mulyani come back !
